    Description

Anthracite is a hard, black and shiny coal that has the minimum amount of water and volatile substances and the highest amount of carbon (between 75 and 95%). Despite having a large amount of carbon, anthracite mineral hardly ignites. and when it burns, it has a short blue flame without smoke and the last product is the transformation of plant materials through a series of stages of peat, lignite and bituminous coal. In 2010, its production in the whole world was equal to 670 million tons.

What is the difference between active carbon and anthracite in water purification?
Anthracite bed in sand filter and pre-filters Water and wastewater treatment is used to separate suspended substances, which are usually coarsened due to the previous chemical purification steps and the addition of chemical substances, and due to their large size, they can be separated by anthracite stones. The outer pores of anthracite coal are very small, so its molecular absorption is weak and it does not have the ability to remove many disturbing molecules in water (such as oil and volatile substances).
